Τη κάνεις, Παππού,
I have missed you so much! I am sorry it has been long time since I have written to you. Life has taken so many turns. I do have to share with you that I have learned to make Phanouropita! Άγιος Φανούριος has been so good to me with his intercessions. It has gotten to the point where I make a Phanouropita about every 7-10 times that he helps me. Otherwise, I would drive Fr. Niko nuts with constantly asking him to bless one for me each time I want to say thank you. Lol!
I was even asked to teach how to make it! I felt so honored and blessed. It didn’t quite come out how we had hoped, because the oven was made for a different type of pan. However, it still came out fairly well. Fr. George, who’s from Ῥόδος explained to me that if you are making a Phanouropita to be blessed, it must be humble meaning without nuts, dried fruit, and powdered sugar. It needs to be plain like ἄρτος is. I love passing it out to everyone afterwards and explaining how God helped me through St. Phanourios’ intercessions! Praise God in His saints!
Kαληνυχτα καί Σ’αγαπώ!
